Natural England has recently published the Countryside Stewardship woodland creation grant manual for 2018. Woodland creation provides funding to supply, plant, weed and protect young trees. Farmers and other land managers can apply for a two-year capital works programme to plant and protect young trees. If farmers are eligible, a supporting maintenance grant of £200 per hectare for ten years may also be available.
The woodland creation grant is a standalone capital grant and funding for 2018 is open for applications from 2 January to 16 February 2018.
The manual can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/countryside-stewardship-woodland-creation-grant-manual-2018. It provides information about the woodland creation 2018 grant scheme and agreement conditions.
