DEFRA has published guidance setting out its policy on granting consent to works on common land and for land to be released from registration as a common, or as a town or village green. The guidance will be useful to anyone making an application under section 16 or section 30 of the Commons Act 2006. It will also be of interest to anyone considering works that affect public land.
