George Fellowes


George advises on contentious agricultural property issues. He acts for both landlords and tenants under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 and the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 with further specialisation in partnership dissolutions, claims against public bodies and commercial disputes.

George’s practice in property law includes prescriptive rights, rights of access and disputes involving co-ownership of land under Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.

Outside property law, he advises on nuisance, nature conservation legislation and land use; notably on agri-environment schemes, designation and management of special areas for protection (SSSIs, SACs, SPAs, AONBs) and water pollution.

George studied Biological Sciences at Bristol University before moving to law and training as a solicitor at Burges Salmon. After qualifying in the agriculture and environment team in 2007, George joined Loxley in August 2011 and became a partner in April 2018.

He is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the Agricultural Law Association.
