Our approach
Expertise
All of our work is underpinned by our experience and proficiency as lawyers. First and foremost, our clients look to us for specialist advice on what are often difficult and complex areas of law. Our lawyers work closely as a team to pool their shared knowledge and expertise for the benefit of our clients.
Commerciality
We do not advise in a vacuum. Good commercial legal advice requires us to understand our clients' personal circumstances or the context in which their businesses operate. Our thorough understanding of the agricultural sector enables us to provide a realistic and pragmatic approach. In litigation, we regard contested court proceedings as a last resort and, wherever possible, we work with our clients to identify grounds for commercial settlement or to explore alternative, more cost-effective forms of dispute resolution.
Accessibility
Our size ensures that we are accessible to our clients. We believe that clients should know who is dealing with their work and be able to make direct contact. As a national practice with clients throughout England and Wales, we frequently travel out of the office to meet our clients and visit their businesses.
Value
We know that our clients expect a personal and effective service to be delivered at a price that is fair and reasonable. One of the reasons for Loxley's establishment was our concern that many larger firms were charging a premium for the type of advice that our clients need. We aim to provide specialist advice at fees that are sensible and competitive.
Our People
Loxley was founded in 2007 by three experienced and highly regarded lawyers from one of the UK’s leading agricultural and property firms. Our team of 27 lawyers advise on litigation and dispute resolution, property transactions and specialist advisory work. The team’s legal expertise is matched by a thorough understanding of the property and agricultural sectors.

Our Office
Loxley’s office is at Langford Mill, a Grade II listed building in Kingswood, on the edge of The Cotswolds. Langford Mill is a converted 19th Century mill building, with stone carvings that are said to be medieval and may have come from the ruins of Kingswood Abbey.
Just north of Bristol, we are situated four miles from junction 14 of the M5. Directions to our office can be found here.

Our Leaf
The leaf that appears on our letters and throughout this website is the leaf of the service tree Sorbus Torminalis.
Now fairly uncommon in England and Wales and often mistaken for a field maple, the service tree is a very good indicator of ancient woodland. It carries white flowers in the spring, often high in the canopy, followed by green, almost olive-like berries in the late summer and autumn.
